That is by far, the best live (no playback) performance of this song ever! The way Bill, at age 16(!), could sing with such restrained power and emotion is remarkable. Thank you for posting it!

Rescue Me was one of the first songs I ever heard from Tokio Hotel and I fell in love it. Then I heard Rette Mich-video version and love that even more. When I heard Rette Mich-original version, and that sent me over the edge! I think that recording is the most remarkable because he recorded it when he was 13!!
This is in Dec. 2005 and he has already stopped going to the higher note on the chorus because his voice had changed. He does though, go to the higher note at the chorus after the bridge. Stunning! And Gustav sings the backing vocal in this version! Gosh, I love this song!

YouTube- tokio hotel rette mich (live)
I am in love with this video.

Don't Germans have different accents? Like how Americans have different accents?

Well yeah, I think Bill's accent has changed a little. You notice it when you hear the 2003 version of Rette Mich all the way up to the recent one.

Unfortunately Bill didn't write this song. BUT, he sings it as if he did!

I think this is a well written song. I think it resonates with anyone who has lost a love, whether it be through a break up, physically separation from, or death of a loved one. It really captures that feeling of extreme hurt when you feel the only thing that will make the pain go away is if you somehow had that person back. But in the hands of a lesser artist it wouldn't be near as good. Bill's ability to convey this pain, heartache and longing is amazing, again, especially at such a young age. That is one of the many evidences that Bill Kaulitz was born to sing and make the world a better place
